Gold Metal Detectors

Discover The Best Gold Metal Detectors On The Market

Gold metal detectors are designed to locate "raw" gold, gold pieces, and gold veins. Since a lot of people in a great number of countries all over the world are looking for a more stable investment, gold prices are going up. Paper dollars are decreasing in worth, and gold has long been considered a safe place in which to invest money, since it retains and increases its value.

If you are at a point where you are ready to find some real gold using metal detectors, you should know the majority of detectors are not great at finding this precious metal. If you own a metal detector that is not designed exclusively for locating pieces of gold or gold veins, you are not going to experience as much success as you otherwise would.

If you are looking for pieces of gold, you are going to require a metal detector that will locate tiny pieces in addition to bigger pieces at reasonable depths. You will certainly want a device that can go very deep to find the big pieces of gold, because not only are they the hardest to find, but they are also worth the most.

Favorite Gold Detector

My personal favorite device is the Golden Hawk by Minelab.

This model is designed to work in the same way as expert geophysical machinery. I have employed an 8-inch coil and a 15-inch coil on this detector. The battery can be recharged and it will allow you to hunt for hours. I don't know exactly how long the battery lasts since I recharge it every evening.

I was able to use the headphones included with this model to locate objects that were junk, sulphides and gold that was in the saprolitic soils and old rocks. I could also find the sections inside the quartz stringers that I wanted to investigate further. For fun, I used this model next to a riverbed to determine if the detector would locate placer gold. I was happy to learn that it did.

Awesome detector, but you should realize that it is a sophisticated piece of equipment, which means it is not light. The battery by itself is heavier than many complete metal detector units.
