Fisher was the first company to make metal detectors in the early part of the 1930's. The company was founded by Gerhard Fisher. Metallascope was the name of the first metal detector developed by Dr. Gerhard Fisher, which was shortened to M-Scope.

Fisher 1280x - Best Underwater Metal Detector

For around fourteen years, I've been using the Fisher 1280X. During this time, I've been able to discover diamond rings, silver and gold - all thanks to this machine. I've also located countless pre-1965 silver coins, many clad coins and more old pennies than I can remember.

The 1266X by Fisher

I have owned my 1266-X for a full 16 years and it is still working great. It has never needed to be fixed for any reason. You probably won't be able to find one of these on the Internet, even if they keep working for a long time. The reason for this is that no one wants to sell theirs.

My Personal Fisher 1225x Metal Detector Review.

For $150 dollars, I bought a Fisher 1225-X, on eBay, approximately 3 months ago. During which time I was able to find close to $20 in clad, a 14K gold ring, and a Civil War bullet. It has a very prosiest pinpointer and it has ample depth reaching. At just 3lbs, I can usually use if for up to 3 hours then I just get too tire.

A Personal Review of the Fisher 1212X

I've never been one to invest in complicated metal detectors, as more controls usually just mean more work for me. I end up spending all my time messing around with the metal detector rather than actually searching for coins. So my super complex machine ends up staying at home, where I can play around with the controls and perform air tests!
