Whites Spectra V3 Metal Detector
A Review of Whites Spectra V3
It took me quite some time to get comfortable with White's Spectra V3. Let me say straight away: this detector is not designed for a new hunter. However, with experience -- and patience -- you can understand the subtleties of this detector
Spectra V3 Coil Replacements
You will have to equip this detector with V optimized coils since the usual DFX/MXT/M6 coils are not great for object identification. This detector is cutting edge and is going to give excellent outcomes if you learn to use it properly. This is not simply a re-designed DFX. It is very advanced when compared with the majority of other detectors.
This model can detect deep objects with its outstanding capabilities. The level of information that you get on an object is awesome. On this model, I have put different coils on, including the Super12, a 6x9 Eclipse, and the 950. They do not work with the TX boost at higher gain modes; however, they provide accurate identification and are effective on the V3.
One drawback is that the D2 coil it comes with is not very effective. I used 2 of these coils prior to using a Super12 coil. The poor performance of the D2 coil does not measure up to White's usual quality levels, which I have been used to getting from them.
You will need to go through the instruction guide in its entirety. I have discovered quite a few capabilities of this device that I only learned through reading the manual. The menu on this detector is pretty good, but far from excellent.
Conclusion on White's Spectra V3
You will be able to make a lot of changes and save them without ever accessing the menu. I am a fan of its complexity, and I am thinking this is going to be one of my favorite detectors. Another great feature is the wireless headphones, but they are pretty expensive if you do not buy them as a package.
So in conclusion, White's Spectra V3 is great for experienced hunters.
