Whites MXT Tracker Metal Detector
Consider Whites MXT Tracker For A Powerful and Simple Detector
If you want a powerful, yet simple machine, check out White's MXT Tracker. Many people like this detector because of its simplicity over more complicated detectors like Minelab Explorer or DFX. Instead of dealing with menus and buttons, the MXT comes with knobs you can adjust as you go along, making things much easier.
White's MXT Preset Modes
The MXT is also equipped with 3 preset modes: Prospecting, Relic, and Coin/Jewelry, and each one of these operational modes are terrific and can do a good job for you. It's easy to just turn on and head out, but it's a good idea to read through your manual, and read our beginners guide to metal detecting for additional tips.
MXT Coils
With the MXT 300 you have a standard coil that is the Super 12 (12"), marking the main difference between it and the MXT which is equipped with a standard 9.5". Other than the obvious difference in paint jobs and the coils, the machines look identical.
The Super 12 Coil makes differentiation difficult. You may find something deep, but you'll have a hard time separating out the myriad of trash items nearby. It's much easier overall with a smaller coil (MXT 9.5") -- an ellipse DD coil can do a better job separating. It can mean a lot less digging time for you. However, the Super 12 is the best for you in those no/low trash areas.
White's MXT Pinpointing
This is where the MXT is excellent with its pinpointing feature. All you have to do is pull the trigger, keep an eye on the LCD bars, and you're off. SO EASY! It won't take you very long to develop a confidence and trust when working with the MXT.
MXT Tracker - Quality LCD Readout
You'll discover how useful that LCD readout can be, and that you can rely on it. Not only does this machine show you what it thinks is there, along with a VDI number, there's also a confidence bar that shows how sure the MXT is about a target.
What I love most is the versatility of this detector. It seems the ground is really different every place I hunt. What's great about the MXT is its ability to be set up to work with any type of ground.
The fact the MXT is also a button magnet is also something I love about it. I've returned to places I'd already covered after I had purchased this detector, like many other people do, and began digging buttons that turned out to be a lot deeper than my old machine had ever been able to go. Now I think the finds I'm getting are a lot better than they use to be.
You just need to get familiar with your machine and pay attention to it's saying. Also, you don't want to assume the depth detector is right, so always be cautious with your digging. All in all, White's MXT Tracker is a great little metal detector.
