Tesoro Conquistador uMax Metal Detector
A Review Of The Tesoro Conquistador uMax
Tesoro offers a series of 2001 detectors, of which the Conquistador uMax is a part. A couple of years ago Tesoro started making the Cibola instead. But, this does not mean you shouldn't own this model. In fact, you should get one. Personally, I have hunted with it in forests, meadows, parks, and around schools and have had wonderful success.
It is easy to use and doesn't weigh a ton. I was surprised at the small size of its control box. I think that a hunter searching for relics from the Civil War would be very pleased with this model.
This is a small detector that packs a lot of power! It won't detect objects that are very deep, but you will still discover some excellent objects. When you are sweeping the detector is extremely flexible. It offers excellent discrimination, and will bypass iron just as well as more expensive detectors.
Conquistador uMax Frequency Shifter
One nice feature of this detector is its frequency shifter so you are better able to hunt when you are with other people or near power lines. There is an all-metal setting on the Conquistador that will work well for close object identification and for pinpointing. Pinpointing is simple, as it is on other contemporary Tesoro models.
In conclusion, I like how light it is and still use it to discover coins in parks even now. It will not detect objects as deep as will the Minelab I own, but I have uncovered coins 10 inches deep. That is not a horrible depth, and it is a quick device. In my opinion, this detector is a great buy at an extremely reasonable price.
