Minelab Safari Metal Detector
Learn Why The Minelab Safari Metal Detector Is Awesome
For hunters looking for awesome performance and ease of use, the Minelab Safari is a sophisticated detector that, by using the FBS multiple frequency advances of Minelab, effectively combines accurate, sensitive, and deep detecting.
Detecting Coil
The extremely light 11 inch Double D coil is waterproof and is excellent for hunting and pinpointing even the deepest of objects. There are four detection settings included on the machine, which are: all metal, relic, coin/jewelry, and coin. You can also create 4 settings of your own choosing. Its discrimination scale is linear -10 to +40. There is also an accept/reject setting.
Automatic Vs. Manual Controls
The controls can be set for automatic use or for manual use. Hunters can use both visual and audio signals to ensure accurate detection. There are two trash density settings. The high setting is excellent for areas that are quite cluttered so there will be fewer hits on trash. The low setting will work fine for uncluttered areas.
The threshold can be set anywhere from 0 to 40. The target volume can be adjusted to the needs of each particular hunter. The noise cancel feature automatically picks the best channel with the least amount of noise for detecting.
Safari's Menu Bar
The menu is very user-friendly and can be accessed quickly and easily for seamless adjustments. Other features of this model include setting signals, a graphic ID bar illustrating active discrimination pattern, a target icon (used in coin/jewelry and coin settings only), a target identification number, and a clear view object depth measurement guide.
The LCD screen is a generous 64 x 128 pixels and the contrast can be altered. The lower shaft is longer than usual, which provides additional extension for more comfortable hunting. The overall design is in balance, which makes it easier to detect for a longer amount of time.
My Own Opinion of the Safari Metal Detector
I found that the Safari performs admirably. Pinpointing with the Safari is simple and precise. This device can detect objects that are very deep, and the readout, visual identification, and audio identification are extremely reliable, especially on coins.
Since my purchase of the Safari, I have detected around schools, in parks, and at the beach, and I have experienced great success and had a lot of fun everywhere I went. I enjoy detecting mainly in the coin/jewelry setting, although I sometimes switch to the coin-only setting with a -10 and 40 discrimination to filter out the usable objects in places heavy with iron (this can result in some great finds).
The only drawback I can find with the Safari is its arm rest, which seems to be cheap when compared with the rest of the device. Everyone can use this detector, from a novice to an expert. If you are a novice, check out these metal detecting tips.
