Fisher 1280X Metal Detector
Why The Fisher 1280X Is The Best Underwater Metal Detector
For around fourteen years, I've been using the Fisher 1280X. During this time, I've made some great finds - diamond rings, silver and gold - all thanks to this machine. I've also located countless pre-1965 silver coins, many clad coins and more old pennies than I can remember.
I've also been able to use the Fisher 1280X as a rain detector. It's actually much better to hunt for metal on rainy days, as the conductivity of the ground is increased when it is wet.
Underwater Benefits
I've learned that the Fisher 1280X is an excellent underwater detector when used in lakes and bodies of fresh water, as well as searching over dry land, provided that the are is not strewn with debris. The Fisher 1280X distinguishes what it senses with different tones. It will produce a chirping tone when it finds something good, as opposed to the usual smooth tone.
When searching across the beach or in saltwater areas, it works best when dry, and will produce distinctive sounds as well when you meet the right conditions. Using the Fisher 1280X, I've actually dug up some gold rings which were deeper than one foot underground. If searching a saltwater beach, keep away from the water.
The motion of the waves and the dark sand cause the Fisher 1280X to make unpleasant, unhelpful noises, making it impossible to discover anything of value. If you use the Fisher 1280X completely submerged, however, the device can be used similarly to a PI machine.
It's actually very neat to be able to use the Fisher 1280X, along with the headphones, completely underwater. In fact, the Fisher 1280X works best when used in the water. You can never be certain when you'll trip or a wave will overtake you. I've witness beachcombers wrap their regular detectors in plastic, only to have them completely destroyed as they stumbled or were hit by a wave. It's fantastic that the Fisher 1280X was actually created to be used in the water.
I've continued to use this machine for so long because of this fact. It's able to hunt efficiently in freshwater bodies, and saltwater areas too, provided that you keep away from the water's edge.
The Fisher 1280X is simple to operate. It includes only three knobs for control. These are discrimination, sensitivity and volume. These aren't hard to understand and manipulate. This is the reason that a large number of professionals enjoy the Fisher 1280X. It's effective and simple. With 8 AA batteries, the Fisher 1280X will run for around 50 hours. I've also never encountered any malfunctions when using this machine.
After you've begun to understand using the Fisher 1280X and the sounds that it produces, you'll really enjoy using this metal detector. Don't forget to use it for these purposes and you'll surely be rewarded with incredible finds.
