The Fisher Metal Detector is created by one of the oldest manufacturers of the device. Fisher was created in 1931. This means that the company has had a great deal of experience in the creation of metal detectors, a fact that should not be taken lightly.
History of Fisher
As a mater of fact, the company actually invented the forerunner of the modern metal detector. This device was known as a Metallascope. This device turned out to be so popular that Fisher was awarded with a patent for the technology. It is today referred to as the M-scope. It would eventually become the standard that other metal detectors were based off of.
Today, Fisher Metal Detectors are available in a large variety of options. The commonly used F series and the 1200 series provide different levels of performance for different needs. The three favorite Fisher Metal Detectors today have had so much success that they are sold on a global scale. In addition to these three options, several add-ons are available to choose from as well.

The Fisher F7 is an option that comes with a Double-D Search Coil. The detector also takes advantage of digital technology in order to optimize its performance. The sensitivity of the detector is professional grade, and it also has automated balance control. The detector is highly receptive for those who take their treasure hunting seriously. A visual target ID truly brings this Fisher Metal Detector to the top of its class.
In addition to this, the F75 has an eleven inch search coil, which is excellent for exploring depths further under the surface of the ground. The LCD screen provides the target ID of the item that has been detected. It also continually refreshes itself in order to keep the user informed in regard to the condition of the ground and the battery life of the detector itself.
Another great option available from Fisher is the CZ-20. This is a metal detector that is perfectly designed for use in all types of weather situations. It is extremely water resistant, capable of being submerged completely underwater and brought down to depths as high as 250 feet. This is more than enough for any recreational use and quite effective for a large number of professional uses as well. The detector is built with high quality components which provide it with superb depth location. It is also built to be resistant to salt water.
The easy to understand three tone Target ID makes it possible for people who are relatively new to the field to quickly identify what type of material has been located. The lightest tone indicates that iron has been found. The medium tone indicates the existence of precious metals in most cases. Typically, a high tone indicates that a coin has been discovered. An additional Pinpoint option is available as well. This allows the detector to search an area when there is no motion, allowing the location of an object to be pinpointed.
Finally, there is my favorite Fisher Detector. This detector allows the user to adjust the transmission frequency in order to eliminate electrical interference from other sources. A predetermined iron discrimination function is available. Other options include a silencer mode, automatic start, and three different coil lengths. This detector is great for the novice metal detector enthusiast.
