Bounty Hunter Lone Star Metal Detector
Learn About The Lone Star by Bounty Hunter
The Lone Star metal detector can be used to hunt for relics, look for coins, and for all-purpose hunting. This model offers potential object identification on an LCD screen. Certain capabilities like an integrated speaker, a stem made of aluminum that can be adjusted, a jack for headphones, and an S-Rod handle and armrest that are ergonomically designed, come with this detector. Bounty Hunter provides a 5-year guarantee on this particular model.
The Bounty Hunter Lone Star will give a loud tone when it finds certain objects that are only signified by a faint tone with other models. Due to this, users might get tones from trash or other interference which might lead to confusion. In order to keep from digging on the basis of these false alarms, you will want to dig only when you hear a loud tone that repeats.

When using any electromagnetic detection or EM technique, the resolution gets poorer as it goes deeper, probably due to how big the coil is (rather than how expensive the electronics are). Certain metal detectors are equipped with superior electronics and might perform better when locating deeper objects; however for the price, this detector is an excellent buy, and I am happy to have done so. For anyone who enjoys hunting for treasures, this device is a must-have.
For the most part, I use the 10-inch magnum coil and set the sensitivity and discrimination at the default marks. I am able to detect European coins (the ones that are bigger than US coins) about 7 inches deep.
The Lone Star is meant for use on beaches, so it is perfect for summertime hunting when you are looking for coins.
If you turn the sensitivity all the way up and the discrimination all the way down, you will get an additional 2 to 4 inches more in depth, but you might get the wrong identification on coins.
Overall, I just believe that treasures do not care that you paid a fortune or not for your detector. Affordable detectors are going to work just fine the majority of the time, which Bounty Hunter excels at.
