Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100 Metal Detector
The Discovery 1100 Metal Detector by Bounty Hunter
The Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100 metal detector comes together very easily. The instruction manual is an easy read and the setup is a breeze. In this review we'll cover the pros and cons of this metal detector, and who it's best suited for.
Once installed, you'll notice the Discovery 1100 is simple to work and has a LED screen for objects 0" to 6" deep, and on Gold/Middle, Iron/Low, and Silver/Copper objects.
A drawback I have with this model is that it seems to detect items within 6" of the coil, so equipment on playgrounds and concrete rebar are often picked up.
With This Detector, You Get What You Pay For
Are all metal detectors equal? Of course not. Does this detector perform as well as more expensive models from Tesoro, Nautilus, and Minelab? No way. The llb by Nautilus can detect a quarter made of silver buried 18" deep. This model could possibly detect one at 7" deep... if you're lucky. That is not a bad depth, and this detector is excellent for what you pay; but you need to know that every detector is different. You will miss a great number of valuable coins and relics if you do not understand this concept.
I have hunted in meadows, grassy areas, and on beaches. The Discovery 1100 by Bounty has a depth accuracy of approximately 95%. Its object identification capabilities are practically identical to that of other detectors from any manufacturer available on the market.
This Bountry Hunter detector is light, has extreme accuracy, is durable, is easy to operate, and is enjoyable to hunt with. I purchased this new, and it cost me under $90.00. I would rather have this machine than one that has a price tag of 5 times this amount. For people who are just starting out in detecting, this machine is an excellent starter detector at an affordable price.
